SideTracked Series - Railway 200 Events
We didn't hold a week-long event in August, but now it’s your chance to join in the fun! Help us celebrate Railway 200 by hosting a special Geocaching event near any old, disused, miniature, or operational railway station anywhere across the UK! From Wednesday 24th to Tuesday 30th September, let’s come together to mark 200 years of railway heritage with exciting geocaching adventures.

Why join in?
This year we’re commemorating 200 years since the UK’s first passenger railway station — Stockton & Darlington Station, which opened on Tuesday 27th September 1825! This landmark event kickstarted the railway age, transforming travel and communities across the nation. Now it’s your chance to create your own slice of history with a unique geocaching event.
In a nutshell:
- Hold your event near any old, disused, miniature, or operational station in the UK
- Name your event SideTracked Railway200 – [Station Name]
- Include our Railway200 header, background image and short description on your event page
- Dates: Wednesday 24th – Tuesday 30th September
- All event attends at these events count towards your SideTracked statistics
- Badges will be specially created for each event to celebrate your participation
Whether it’s a forgotten station from the past, a charming miniature line, or a busy commuter hub, your event will be a fitting tribute to the rich railway legacy.
